The Birch In Shangri-La  

Housed in a traditional 3-storey Tibetan farmhouse with the exquisite craftsmanship of wood carvings, the Birch is located in a picturesque village of Shangri-la,Yunnan. The non-smoking property is a 15-minute drive from Diqing Airport. Free transfer to and from the airport is provided. The Birch is a 10-minute drive from Dukezong Old Town and Songzanlin Monastery, 15-minute drive from Yila Grassland and Napa Sea, and 20-minute drive from Shika Mountain. Bita Lake and Shudu Lake are a 25-minute drive away, while Tiger Leaping Gorge is a 1-hour, 20-minute car journey away. Tastefully decorated, the charming guestrooms feature curtains in red-wine colour, cotton sheets in cream colour and clear windows overlooking the beautiful garden. Each well-appointed unit is fitted with a satellite TV, DVD player and heating system. En suite bathrooms have showers and free toiletries. Guests can relax in the hot spring bath, go horse riding, organise day trips at the tour desk, or rent a bicycle or car to explore the surroundings.
